Being a 90’s kid my favorite TV shows weren’t everyone’s cup of tea, but because COVID has me wanting to turn back time and fulfill my nostalgia moments, I’ve been watching shows on PlutoTV (a free streaming app) with some of my favorite shows growing up. That’s where I lead you all on my favorite 5 Friday leads me.

5. Heathcliff—Unlike a lot of children my favorite cartoon cat was not Garfield or Hello Kitty, it was Heathcliff, he was more rebellious than Garfield and was my favorite orange cat. I enjoyed every bit of the show, and remember the theme song when I think about the show.

4. Ghost Busters—Ghost Busters was one of those shows that take me way back. I enjoyed everything about the show from Slimer to the Ghost Busters going out and trapping the ghost. I even had the Nintendo Game as a child, I never really learned how to play it, but it was still fun.

3. Zoom—For awhile as a child and young teen we didn’t have cable, and PBS became my favorite TV channel. One show that I loved hands down was Zoom. I had the address memorized and wanted so much to send stuff to the show. I also had a crush on the late Jared Nathan from Zoom, my heart broke in 1,000 pieces when I learned that he passed on.

2. Are you Afraid of the Dark—Even as an adult I had the theme song as my ringtone, because it felt so right and it reminded me of my childhood. Side note: There’s an Are You Afraid of the Dark Giveaway here if you want to take a walk down memory lane.

1. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles—Now as an adult, I can’t understand how April didn’t get sick by crawling in the sewers with turtles and eating pizza that’s been in a sewer. It doesn’t mean it’s still not one of my favorite TV shows, even as an adult PlutoTV’s all TMNT channel is awesome. I can sit in front of the TV or my computer and enjoy a gluten-free pizza and imagine being friends with turtles!

This summer I’ve decided to go to summer camp. As a child I never went to summer camp, but I’ve always wanted to, so when I learned that there are actual free online summer camps for both adults and children, I jumped on the opportunity. I’m social distancing and going to summer camp in my pajamas!

Some of the Camps my kids and I are attending this year

There are so many camps for me and my kids to attend this year, my head was swimming with ideas. Even some of the children’s camps I found online looked like something I’d like to learn! So I figured if I’m going to be locked indoors during this pandemic, and the camps look like fun, why not take them anyway!

The San Diego Zoo: The San Diego Zoo has many interesting courses, from cats to condors, and even extinction. It’s a course geared toward teenagers 13 and up!

Forensic Since and Criminology: Varsity Tutors has courses about everything. Some are free and others are paid courses. They’re actually for children in elementary and middle school, but it’s some of those courses that I’d prefer to learn about myself.

Thinkergarden: Thinkergarden is the perfect camping opportunity for young children. Every week they have a new book list and activities for children.

Wide-open school: Wide open school has a list of activities each week for preschool-5th grade. It provides you with different websites that have activities on it as well. The opportunities are endless.

Some other places to find a list of summer school activities None of the courses my kids and I are taking, sounds interesting to you hopefully the sites with lists below have courses that catch your eye.
